From Goodreads
I needed a really good paranormal read for summer and no doubt I picked up Sweet Evil and it makes me want to read paranormal all over again. Sweet Evil does paranormal in YA justice, and it was fresh, new, and provocative. Sweet Evil was a perfect paranormal read filled with hot romance, action, and a new take on the deadly sins.
Going into Sweet Evil, I thought it wouldn't be my type of book, Wendy Higgins turned it around when I started to read fast and seeing where Anna goes. Wendy's writing is what gets you hooked, full on insta - hooked. I also loved how she took a different approach to bad influences on teens and the deadly sins. Anna Whitt was born with a sixth sense to feel and see the emotions of other people. She's struggle with her abilities and when she has a growing pull to captivating Kaiden Rowe she has no idea what she's getting into. There was so many great and steamy scenes with Anna and Kaiden that it felt so real. Wendy wrote very simple but she adds depth that make it even better! *Nods head* When it gets to these steamy scenes, Wendy's writing screams full on provocative!
With Anna's ability also come a history she also learns more about her dad, mom, Kaiden, and herself. I loved reading all about the deadly sins (there was even a glossary in the back that explains each sin with a characters name), the fall of the demons and angels, it was all so absorbing and engaging. I like how Kaiden revealed what Anna is in great scenes that really capture great moments in the book. Sweet Evil does paranormal in YA justice, it wasn't like any other paranormal read I read and I'm dying to figure what happens with Anna and Kaiden, but also if she'll turn to the halo or the horns? Honestly, picked Sweet Evil up now! It was such a mind blowing debut that has great romance, scorching scenes, and heart racing choices. Sweet Evil is a must read for any paranormal reader!
