He heads off to the sometimes crazy, possibly unstable, and anything-but-boring world of Culver Creek Boarding School, and his life becomes the opposite of safe. Because down the hall is Alaska Young. The gorgeous, clever, funny, sexy, self-destructive, screwed-up, and utterly fascinating Alaska Young, who is an event unto herself. She pulls Pudge into her world, launches him into the Great Perhaps, and steals his heart.

After. Nothing is ever the same.

From Goodreads

Looking for Alaska by John Green is definitely one of my favorite books of all time now. There was just something about the story, the raw emotions, and the characters that captured the essence of teenage rebellion and angst. But beyond that, the protagonist, Miles “Pudge” Halter was so easily relatable and his journey to finding himself was amazing to read.

Compared to the rest of John Green’s novels (The Fault In Our Stars, An Abundance of Katherines), Looking for Alaska was unique and different in the sense that it focused more on philosophical aspects, such as the “Great Perhaps” to the sassy, witty Alaska that I enjoyed reading. There was also the class that Pudge takes while in Culver Creek Boarding School about religion and finding happiness that I found so interesting. Also, Alaska had some deep thoughts and quotes throughout the novel that opened up new things about the world and people in general. All of the characters were fun to read, from Pudge’s roommate, Colonel to their friend Takumi, I enjoyed every second of the novel.

Ultimately, Looking for Alaska blew away all my expectations I had for it! It was ingenious, clever, and outrageous. Green weaved such a poignant novel that will have readers turning the pages faster and faster! Be sure to add this one to your summer reading pile, it was a memorable read :)
