Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Pages: 352 pages
Date Read: September 31, 2012
Format: ARC
Source: Won @ I'm Loving Books
Rating: Really enjoyed it a lot.

Goodreads Synopsis:  When Marshall King and Elyse Alton suddenly wake up tangled in each other's arms with zero memory of how they got there or even who they are, it's the start of a long journey through their separate pasts and shared future.

Terrified by their amnesia, Marshall and Elyse make a pact to work together to find the answers that could restore their missing memories. As they piece together clues about their lives, they discover that they're in the idyllic mountain resort town of Summer Falls. Everyone seems happy there, but as Marshall and Elyse quickly learn, darkness lurks beneath the town's perfect facade. Not only is the town haunted by sinister ghosts, but none of its living inhabitants retain bad memories of anything--not the death of Marshall's mom, not the hidden violence in Elyse's family, not even the day-to-day anguish of being a high schooler.

Lonely in this world of happy zombies, Marshall and Elyse fall into an intense relationship founded on their mutual quest for truth. But the secrets they're trying to uncover could be the death of this budding love affair--and of everyone, and everything, they love in Summer Falls.

From Goodreads

My Review:
Tagline: "In Summer Fall, everyone has a secret buried in a town built by lies"

Glimmer was completely a book I did not see coming at al, literally, in a good way! It was complex, intense, and a roller coaster of secrets and lies. And to tell you, this book was no zombies. Also, it left me completely hanging by a thread in the end, it was that good. Plus if you love amnesia books this one is for you!

Right away, the story starts with a boy and a girl together in bed naked. They have no idea why they got here and what they did and they are full of questions. Now, Elyse (Her) and Marshall (Him) have to find why they are here in Summer Falls and many more unanswered questions throughout the whole book. Summer Falls was the perfect setting crafted for this book. It's a town where warm weather stays throughout the whole year and citizens fall into "heatnaps".  Summer Falls was a town where everything was completely perfect no matter what. I loved how Marshall and Elyse interacted in the book, they discover so many secrets piled up in Summer Falls and work their way around the ghost that dominate the town. Yes..I said ghost. *nods head* The ghost walk all around town , without any of the people noticing them, and with a touch the people of Summer Falls, fall into a deep slumber. When the wake they find themselves with no bad memories, nothing wrong with what is secretly going on. Just as Elyse and Marshall was engrossed in finding what's wrong with summer falls they also find what the town worked.

I complelely liked this book a lot! It was a perfect book to read on a rainy day with all the suspense that keeps you turing the pages. Phoebe instantly introduces you to a bunch of ideas and supsense that makes you want to finally know the answer just from the start She also magically weaves in magic into Glimmer which was to be honestly cool!

Along with some kick-ass heroine and heroes, magic, and heatnaps; they was something real and honest about the romance with Elyse and Marshall. I love how they worked together with their uncovering, discoveries, and moments! It was so unqiue and a little boggling but I liked it a lot and definitly something you don't normally see in YA!

All in all, you will be hooked and captiviated into the aloof world of Summer Falls, you've got some pretty awesome main characters, magic, and a maze of questions, you can't ask more! Go ahead and grab this book soon and it's a Stand-a-lone!

It?s a destiny the Order has struggled to hide,
and a destiny someone from the past?far in the past, has already laid
claim to.

Alliances will be made, and friends will be lost, as the
Order?s dark secrets are revealed by the very thing they sought to destroy.

From Goodreads

How amazing was that? And also Leigh wanted to share with you some things about the cover too, which was really nice and fun :))

"I know, there's no mistaking it. This is definitely a Carrier Series
cover, but that was the intention. After the amazing reception to the
cover of Carrier of the Mark, HarperCollins wanted Shadow's cover to
be instantly recognizable. And it is, but the new darker color palette
reflects the darker tone that this installment brings, and the pink
and purple really make it pop. I love it and think HarperCollins have
done another amazing job. I hope you like it too."

Can't Keep A Secret: Speechless - Hannah Harrington

SpeechlessSpeechless by Hannah Harrington
Date Released:August 28th 2012
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Pages: 288 pages
Date Read: September 28, 2012
Format: Paperback
Source: Bought at Barnes and Noble
Goodreads Synopsis:  Everyone knows that Chelsea Knot can't keep a secret

Until now. Because the last secret she shared turned her into a social outcast—and nearly got someone killed.

Now Chelsea has taken a vow of silence—to learn to keep her mouth shut, and to stop hurting anyone else. And if she thinks keeping secrets is hard, not speaking up when she's ignored, ridiculed and even attacked is worse.

But there's strength in silence, and in the new friends who are, shockingly, coming her way—people she never noticed before; a boy she might even fall for. If only her new friends can forgive what she's done. If only she can forgive herself.

From Goodreads

My Review:

Speechless was a read that I had really high hopes for and this book did deliver where I wanted it to be! I was blown away by how Hannah Harrington wrote such a stunning book that hits really close to home and you really get to see how word, who are just are impactful than actions can spiral to all sorts of horrible things. Speechless just reminded me of how great Thirteen Reasons Why was.

“You can be surrounded by people and still be lonely. You can be the m
ost popular person in school, envied by every girl and wanted by every boy, and still feel completely worthless. The world can be laid at your feet and you can still not know what you want from it.”

Chelsea Knot, one of the school's best gossipers. She knows who's dating who, who cheated on each other, and all the scandalous things about a person. Her best friend is Kristen, also one of the school's best gossipers, to be honest Kristen was just plain horrible and so was Chelsea in the beginning. It was so horrible what they both did, really and it could happen so it also added another layer of realism. Speechless shows how words matter.

One night at one of the biggest parties, Chelsea finds a guy messing around with another guy and believes she has the scoop. She must tell her circle to keep her place, rather than be a social outcast. When she lets the rumor run wild, she causes the people around her to show her true colors and even her. She takes the vow of silence, so that her words won't hurt the people around her. I thought Chelsea really grew throughout the whole book. She slowly changes with the people around her. Like her new friend Asha, who's amazing; Sam, the new guy she meets that helps find her romance and finds her way. She learns a great amount of how words are important and I loved Chelsea at the end!

If I had one bad thing to say about the book was maybe more action and a backdrop of what Chelsea use to to do back when she was a big gossiper. But other than that I loved the other elements weaved into the story. But I do have to say Thirteen Reasons Why was kinda at a higher level than Speechless but I would proudly place them on my shelf. :))

Hannah Harrington dazzles you with a book that does not only give you a amazing cover (0.0) but tha value of words and how it can make or break a person's choices in life. This book was raw, real, and emotion, Hannah Harrignton pushes the bounds of words and the world of gossiping. She takes you on a rollercoaster that will stay with you till the last
page.

Exactly the book will tear through your mind!

“Hate is...it's too easy," he says. His face calm, calmer than it has any right to be, his eyes not wavering from mine, like he's so completely sure of what he's saying. "Love. Love takes courage.”

The EPIC Finale: The Reckoning - Kelley Armstrong

The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong
Date Released: April 6th 2010
Publisher: Harper Collins
Pages:  391 pages
Date Read: August 12, 2012
Format: Hardcover
Source: Library
Goodreads Synopsis:  My name is Chloe Saunders. I'm fifteen, and I would love to be normal.

But normal is one thing I'm not.

For one thing, I'm having these feelings for a certain antisocial werewolf and his sweet-tempered brother--who just happens to be a sorcerer--but, between you and me, I'm leaning toward the werewolf.

Not normal.

My friends and I are also on the run from an evil corporation that wants to get rid of us--permanently.

Definitely not normal.

And finally, I'm a genetically altered necro-mancer who can raise the dead, rotting corpses and all, without even trying.

As far away from normal as it gets.

From Goodreads

My Review:
Tagline: "Kelley Armstrong will blow you away with all the actio, hype, and romance she binds in her last book!"

Asdfghjkl, I FINALLY read The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong and I'm literally still thinking about it! Kelley Armstrong takes you on a wild ride of emotions, action, and a touch of romance with Derek and Simon. I think by far one of the best books in this series. I love how its so easy to pick up her books like this one and just keep on reading without being way too much a "heavy paranormal" read and now this series is a must read! *head nods*

misha nodding

Right away The Reckoning starts where The Awakening left off, and I liked that about all of these books. Chloe and her friends just found Andrew and they on there way to head to his house planning before the Edison Group takes them back as there genetically altered paranormals. Chloe was just as fun and serious and I loved how she still stayed they same and true to herself! I'll definitly miss her as an amazing character, and knows how to take control of the story.

Of of the best parts of the book was the pacing. Really, no doubt she moves it up a notch from The Awakening and she grips you into her world you don't want to miss a second of this book!

Kelley Armstrong really didn't hold back on the last book! She amps up the pace and moves really fast till you are like "What?! I already finished?"  All the characters where amzing, like Tori who grew less annoying; Derek, who finally shows his feeling; and Simon the nerdy kid. But the ending? I knew that it could have been so much better and it wasn't something I expected but wanted a little more.  I think Kelley could have pushed the creativity envelope a little more, just because I was unhappy about the ending.
.
Captivating, amazing, and writen well; The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong is a book I won't forget and definitly pick up this series if you are a paranormal junkie!

From Goodreads

I'm really happy and excited to be on this book promo for Tonya Fitzharris's book, 6 Seconds of Life! And plus I love the cover and synopsis! :)

Excerpt:
I think deep down, I’ve always known it was going to end this way. I was never meant to live a long life. I accepted this fate a long time ago. I was just waiting for the right moment.
I wanted to fall in love first.
I wanted to experience what it was like to have a real family first.
I wanted to know what it was like to be sincerely happy, even if it was short-lived.
I got all of those firsts.
And now I’m ready to move forward.
I inch my feet closer to the open sky. And closer. Until my naked toes are peeking over the edge. The water cracks violently below me, begging for me to join in on all of the fun.
Just a few more seconds before it’s all over.
            Until I’m free.
I’m totally relaxed. This moment, it’s all mine. No one can take it away from me.
I close my eyes. The sounds of high heels clicking on the walkway and cameras snapping and preserving memories and street musicians begging for spare change surround me. I breathe in their music and let it be the soundtrack to the closing credits of my life.
I raise my arms up to my side, reaching for the skies that surround me.
And I step into the air.
            I’m flying now.
