Follwer Friday #7

Follower Friday is Hosted @ The Parajunkee
This Week's Question:Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then “broke up” with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.
My Answer: I have to go with several. Wendy from the Switched series by Amanda Hocking, Wendy was funny, witty, and I loved her lot in the beginning but she made choices I hated! Like making out with a guy that she likes but I didn't and they did it, that was some tough stuff, and I can never like Wendy again! But still, I loved The Switched series!

Another would be, Ethan Wade from Beautiful Creatures. I went into the book without knowing it was a guy's POV! When I did I was hesitant. Like really paranoia, since when I picked that book up I've been reading some not so great ones and I really hoped I liked Ethan! And I did! Your guys must check this book out! :)

Waiting On Wednesday (#4)

"Waiting On Wednesday" is Hosted at Jill over at Breaking The Spine :D
The Selection (The Selection, #1)
The Selection By Kiera Cass
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.
Endure (Need, #4)

It’s all-out war (and no-holds-barred romance) in the climactic conclusion to Carrie Jones’s bestselling series.

Zara is at the center of an impending apocalypse. True, she’s successfully rescued Nick from Valhalla, but it simply isn’t enough. Evil pixies are ravaging Bedford, and they need much more than one great warrior; they need an army. Zara isn’t sure what her role is anymore. She’s not just fighting for her friends; she’s also a pixie queen. And to align her team of pixies with the humans she loves will be one of her greatest battles yet. Especially since she can’t even reconcile her growing feelings for her pixie king . . .

Unexpected turns, surprising revelations, and one utterly satisfying romantic finale make Endure a thrilling end to this series of bestsellers.
The Selection will be released on April 24, 2012 by Harper Collins
Endure will be released on May 8, 2012 by Bloomsbury

Really excited for both of them! Love the cover of The Selection! Best cover in 2012 maybe so.. and Endure I need it and Team Astley :)

This week was the best! Seriously, I'm love these weeks as a blogger getting these books to read! :D I'm considering this IMM post from last week and this week so it's HUGE. And if you were at LA's Festival Of Books I was there and I met so much great authors and the books!

    For Review:
-Taken At Dusk by C.C Hunter. Isn't that cover great? And thanks to St. Martin's Press for this book! Still have to review the other first two.
-The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda. This looks total awesomesauce! And lots of blurbs, especially Becca Fitzpatrick commenting on it makes me love it just as more.

    The Library Haul:
-And Then Things Fall Apart by Arlaina Tibensky. I like the cover alot for this one. Picked it out at the library as an impulse pick and I hope I like it since I'm really getting into Realistic Fiction.
-The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe. A virus. Quarentine. Small Island. I NEED To start on this one! I love the type of book where it involves a virus and people surviving and I'm having high expectations for this and romance! :)

And as all you know, I went to LA's Festival of Books this Saturday and it was my second year coming and I love the experience! It was aweosme and one of the most bookish social events I've ever been to and I'm sure I'm going next year! ^^

I met Kami Garcia, Margaret Stohl, and Lauren Kate and the YA Panel like around 12:00 and it lasted for an hour but it felt like only 30 minutes since it was completely surreal and amazing! They talked about there books, doing a reading, and asking questions I love them! They were up beat and bubbly with their personality it was great meeting them! I did get my Beautiful Creatures book signed below:

And we took a pictures..and look there's me on the right.

    Follower Friday #6

This Week's Question: Fight! Fight! If you could have two fictional characters battle it out (preferably from books), who would they be and who do you think would win?

I love this question! I would have to go with Rose from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead Vs. Tris from Divergent by Richelle Mead! Rose has all the wits, knowledge, she could convince and seduce anyone. She also know not to give up at all. Not to mention her kick-ass vampire powers, intuition, great looks, Rose it a complete kick-ass charcter who will make you second every attack that comes to you!

But here comes Tris! Tris is like the most fearless person you can find. Not only can she jump of a speding train in less than 6 seconds, barely feeling any shocks, she can find a solution to every problem, she pretty much got everythin and I would not like to get on her bad side! :) But in the end it could be a close tie. Maybe one faints and that's how to other winds, because I love both of them and I can't see one just die. :D

The Name of The Star-Maureen Johnson

The Name Of The Star By Maureen Johnson
    Date Released:  September 29th 2011
    Publisher: Putnam Juvenile
    Pages: 372 pages
    Date Read: December 16, 2011
    Format: Hardcover
    Source: Library
Shelves: Must Buy ASAP, Historical, Parnormal, Loved It, Amazing, There's a Sequel
Goodreads Synopsis:  The day Louisiana teenager Rory Deveaux arrives in London marks a memorable occasion. For Rory, it's the start of a new life at a London boarding school. But for many, this will be remembered as the day a series of brutal murders broke out across the city, gruesome crimes mimicking the horrific Jack the Ripper events of more than a century ago.

Soon “Rippermania” takes hold of modern-day London, and the police are left with few leads and no witnesses. Except one. Rory spotted the man police believe to be the prime suspect. But she is the only one who saw him. Even her roommate, who was walking with her at the time, didn't notice the mysterious man. So why can only Rory see him? And more urgently, why has Rory become his next target? In this edge-of-your-seat thriller, full of suspense, humor, and romance, Rory will learn the truth about the secret ghost police of London and discover her own shocking abilities.

    My Review:
First let me say this is my first Maureen Johnson book and I loved it alot! It had romance, lore, a great historical mystery, loveable characters, it was the perfect type of book to read under the cover in a rainy day! :D

    The Great Things:
-I loved Rory! She was spunky, loveable, and I can see a hit of a total-kick butt charcter in the next book! She was just easy to love the story and he mind was interesting [in a good way]  and so easy to just read and read! I love a character like that!
-The Mystery. After reading the book, the idea of the midern day "Ripper" was really cool and kinda confusing at times. But there was muders going on everywhere, the social scene at Rory's private school, I love that stuff making me give this a higher rating!
-The Minor Characters. What makes The Name of The Star a great read it the other characters, like Jerome, Jazza, Book they were funny and crafted in a great way having their own personalities I like them alot!

    The Low Points:
-The Premise. In the middle of the book I just really got lost about all the muders, the "Ripper", everything! I really got mad at Maureen for not tying up here and there loose threads ASAP and that got the story more and more confusing, I had to stop and re-read 0_0
-The "Ripper" Idea. The ripper idea was another element that you have to understand form the beginning to really understand how it plays throughout the whole book. It's a re-read thing you have to do if you forgot one thing about it, and I did that and it felt so much better understanding it! :)

The Name of The Star is a great book to read if your a historical finatic [like me ^^], wants a great mystery and some preeetty awesome charcters that you'll love, this book is for you! I would really read it again and excited for a sequel! Jazza was one of my favorite charcters and the school element really made me love it more, since everything in a school is always better, right? Overally, this book was stunning and I can't wait to see more of what Maureen Johnson has!

“Fear can't hurt you," she said. "When it washes over you, give it no power. It's a snake with no venom. Remember that. That knowledge can save you.”
    “Boo: "Go talk to her."

    Callum: "About what?"

    Boo: "Anything."

Callum: "You want me to walk up to her and say, 'Are you a ghost?'"

    Boo: "I do that."

Callum: "I love it when you get it wrong.”
