Books To Pine For (#1)

Books To Pine For is Hosted @ The Story Siren

Release Date: June 19th 2012 by Razorbill
The Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2)
Synopsis:  Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives.

Sydney would love to go to college, but instead, she’s been sent into hiding at a posh boarding school in Palm Springs, California–tasked with protecting Moroi princess Jill Dragomir from assassins who want to throw the Moroi court into civil war. Formerly in disgrace, Sydney is now praised for her loyalty and obedience, and held up as the model of an exemplary Alchemist.

But the closer she grows to Jill, Eddie, and especially Adrian, the more she finds herself questioning her age-old Alchemist beliefs, her idea of family, and the sense of what it means to truly belong. Her world becomes even more complicated when magical experiments show Sydney may hold the key to prevent becoming Strigoi—the fiercest vampires, the ones who don’t die. But it’s her fear of being just that—special, magical, powerful—that scares her more than anything. Equally daunting is her new romance with Brayden, a cute, brainy guy who seems to be her match in every way. Yet, as perfect as he seems, Sydney finds herself being drawn to someone else—someone forbidden to her.

When a shocking secret threatens to tear the vampire world apart, Sydney’s loyalties are suddenly tested more than ever before. She wonders how she's supposed to strike a balance between the principles and dogmas she's been taught, and what her instincts are now telling her.

Should she trust the Alchemists—or her heart?

Release Date: March 27th 2012 by Balzer + Bray
Synopsis: Vee Bell is certain of one irrefutable truth—her sister’s friend Sophie didn’t kill herself. She was murdered.

Vee knows this because she was there. Everyone believes Vee is narcoleptic, but she doesn’t actually fall asleep during these episodes: When she passes out, she slides into somebody else’s mind and experiences the world through that person’s eyes. She’s slid into her sister as she cheated on a math test, into a teacher sneaking a drink before class. She learned the worst about a supposed “friend” when she slid into her during a school dance. But nothing could have prepared Vee for what happens one October night when she slides into the mind of someone holding a bloody knife, standing over Sophie’s slashed body.

Vee desperately wishes she could share her secret, but who would believe her? It sounds so crazy that she can’t bring herself to tell her best friend, Rollins, let alone the police. Even if she could confide in Rollins, he has been acting off lately, more distant, especially now that she’s been spending more time with Zane.

Enmeshed in a terrifying web of secrets, lies, and danger and with no one to turn to, Vee must find a way to unmask the killer before he or she strikes again.

Follower Friday (#2)

Hosted @ Parajunkee

This Week's Question: What book would you love to see made into a movie or television show and do you have actors/actresses in mind to play the main characters?

My answer:  This one is hard! There is just so much good books that should definetly be movies, but I would have to go with Deadly Little Secrets by Laurie Faria Stolarz, Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi, Wither by Lauren DeStefano, Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz, Clockwork Angel, etc...there's just so much!

I am leaving this undecided but what books would you like to be a movie??? :)) Leave your links! I'll be sure to stop by!

Teser Tuesday #3

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser Tuesday is from  Divergent by Veronica Roth

Here's a little mash-up on what is about from Goodreads:
Beatrice "Tris" Prior has reached the fateful age of sixteen, the stage at which teenagers in Veronica Roth's dystopian Chicago must select which of five factions to join for life. Each faction represents a virtue: Candor, Abnegation, Dauntless, Amity, and Erudite. To the surprise of herself and her selfless Abnega'
tion family, she chooses Dauntless, the path of courage. Her choice exposes her to the demanding, violent initiation rites of this group, but it also threatens to expose a personal secret that could place in mortal danger. Veronica Roth's young adult Divergent trilogy launches with a captivating adventure about love and loyalty playing out under most extreme circumstances.

I'm actually reading It! And its great!
And here's my teaser:)

"What's going on? she says. "How are simulations going.?
"Really well," I nod a few times. "A lttle too well,I hear.
"Ah."
"Please understand," I say quietly."What does it mean to be...." I hesitate.

So what's Your Teaser Tuesday? Leave a link!! :)

Book Review: The Second Short Life of Bree Tanner by Stephanie Meyer

The Second Short Life of Bree Tanner by Stephanie Meyer
010 by Little Brown Books for Young Readers
Hardcover, 178 pages
Published June 5th 2010 by Little Brown Books for Young Read 2
Sypnosis:Fans of The Twilight Saga will be enthralled by this riveting story of Bree Tanner, a character first introduced in Eclipse, and the darker side of the newborn vampire world she inhabits.
In another irresistible combination of danger, mystery, and romance, Stephenie Meyer tells the devastating story of Bree and the newborn army as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion.
Bree Tanner can barely remember life before she had uncannily powerful senses, superhuman reflexes and unstoppable physical strength. Life before she had a relentless thirst for blood... life before she became a vampire.
All Bree knows is that living with her fellow newborns has few certainties and even fewer rules: watch your back, don't draw attention to yourself and, above all, make it home by sunrise or die. What she doesn't know: her time as an immortal is quickly running out.
Then Bree finds an unexpected friend in Diego, a newborn just as curious as Bree about their mysterious creator, whom they know only as "her". As they come to realize that the newborns are pawns in a game larger than anything they could have imagined, Bree and Diego must choose sides and decide whom to trust. But when everything you know about vampires is based on a lie, how do you find the truth? (Goodreads Blurb)

My Feeling..... & The Book.....

Okay, all you Twilight-haters might be surprised that I actually read a Stephanie Meyer book and liked it is KINDA STRANGE,right??? o_o But I admit it was good even with all my really stressful decision and though...I bought it..^^
And after reading it I was so surprised, Bree was sort different to Bella, Stephanie Meyer's writing was good, and it was a good read, though it took me 8 days to finish this novella, meaning.... I really wasn't in a mood for it. :D I actually like that Bree was a book-lover (like me!) ^^ and she wasn't in love like Bella with the all obsessed thing with her and Edward, even with a hint of romance... which I enjoyed.. :)

My Book Review......
Bree Tanner can't imagine the power flowing inside her body, intense and powerful senses, and the fact she's a newborn. Bree is very subtle and keeps things for herself, especially in her clan lead by Riley whom hold secrets that tests Bree's abilities.

Then, she meets Diego. a newborn just like her whom is as curious and together they discover who "her" is. But as time comes, Bree's abilities are tested and its a whole new field filled with tragedy, betray, and Bree and Diego have to find who they must trust to win. But when everything you know about vampires is based on a lie, how do you find the truth?

Overall it was a good book and I actually liked it,so......

3 Balloons! :)

Book Review: Captivate by Carie Jones

Captivate by Carrie Jones
Hardcover, 273 pages
Published January 5th 2010 by Bloomsbury USA
Sypnosis:Zara and her friends knew they hadn't solved the pixie problem for good. Far from it. The king's needs grow deeper every day he's stuck in captivity, while his control over his people gets weaker. It's made him vulnerable. And now there's a new king in town.

A turf war is imminent, since the new pixie king, Astley, is moving in quickly. Nick nearly killed him in the woods on day one, but Zara came to his rescue. Astley swears that he and Zara are destined to be together, that he's one of the good guys. Nick isn't buying it, though Zara isn't as sure -- despite herself, she wants to trust the new king. But it's a lot more than her relationship with Nick that is at stake. It's her life -- and his.

My Thoughts....& Other Things....
Carrie Jones did it AGAIN! She is such a great writer that Captivate overshadowed Need!
It so ADDICTING to just read Captivate! More steamy romance, awesome Zara and her groupie, and a chilfhanger in the ennding!! This book was so right and purely AWESOME! Carrie Jones made you show what she has and just makes you go like "WHY!?", "Nooooo.WHY CARRIE JONES!!", and you know she isn't afraid of writing what she wants and makes you go like:OMG! NO!

I just can keep reading her books, especially since it makes you devour them within a day!!! :) Eveveything is great, like the witty and strong Zara, the bubbly Issie, the know it all and half eagle Devyn, and Astley a guys who just like Nick but a pixie. When Astely was introduced I was like:"NOOOOooo! Another guy???!!" but he's really some important person...if you've read the book.. :D Just lots of funny things with a Astley and Nick... :)

And in the end my jaw dropped and I was just wanted to laugh out loud, be angry, since all her books have emotional ending (the good one!)

My Review.....
So Captivate really picked up after Need, the pixies and Zara's freaky stalker who turns out to be a pixie. Things are overtaking Zara like round up pixies and locking them, and Astley who just crawls into her life, Zara has a BIG problem. The pixies who seem to slip one by one out of the metal house and a choice that makes Zara to side with Astley.
Is Zara making the wrong choices?
Find out in Captivate.......

After reading this I was CAPTIVATED!!!! And in the end, I'm so TEAM Astley! :) Then I so forgot about Nick....and its so Zara and Astley!!! A way better sequel than the first and a recommendation to pixie lovers or paranormal romance this books IS FOR YOU! :)

5 stars! So GOOD! :)

Dysoptian Week~Book Review: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
Hardcover, 390 pages
Published August 24th 2010 by Scholastic Press
Sypnosis:Young Katniss Everdeen has survived the dreaded Hunger Games not once, but twice, but even now she can find no relief. In fact, the dangers seem to be escalating: President Snow has declared an all-out war on Katniss, her family, her friends, and all the oppressed people of District 12. The thrill-packed final installment of Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy will keep young hearts pounding.(Goodreads Desciption)
My First Thoughts.....& Other Things.....
I was so so so HAPPY WHEN I GOT THIS BOOK! :) I've beeen waiting foorreeveerrr to get it and after reading it I was disappointed. I thought Suzanne Collins will deliver the ending we all wanted: Action, The Love, and Adventure but ended up flat... -_-
Love the cover! With the Mockingjay spending it wings! And the sky blue cover! Great thinking on that! :) It was so sad!! :( Almost every character you love dies!!! You just want to scream out:"WHY!!!"
So here's my REVIEW!
My Review.......
Katniss Everdeen survived the cruel Capitol's Games's twice but for her there's no time to think or plan, everything is taking place ever since the rebellion she never wanted to start.
District 13 really does exist and is a place for rebellion and the safest place for District 12's
Peeta under the roof of the Capitol.
And President's Snows declaration of an all-out war on Katniss, her family, friends, and the people of District 12 and 13.
For Katniss, becoming the Mockingjay will be the last chance for Peeta,Gale, her family and District 12.
Overally, this book is a must read for the series even for the fact it was dissapointing.... :( I would give it 4 Well-Earned Stars!!! :) I would really recommnd this book to those fanns of the A-Mazing Hunger Games or anyone who loves dysoptians!!! Also have a box of tissues, since the book is sad!

!!4 Stars!!

Harry Potter Anniversary!

Today's the 62 year anniversary of Harry Potter!!!
Congrats to J.K. Rowling, the A-Mazing Cast of Harry Potter!~Harry,Ron,Hereminoe!!! :)
It's so great how Harry Potter has it name in literature and all the movies where great in my opinions! But how does it compare to the well-known, as famous Hunger Games???!!!
Let's give a shoutout to Harry Potter for every blogger, reader, or fans!!! :)

To say the least, Harry Potter changed the way I think about our world. The Good Vs. Evil. And the way how we can fight against today's Voldemort.

If you haven't read it, please DO READ THEM! AMAZING! Every second of this books is breath-taking and a classic!

Harry Potter changed my Life how has it done to you?

Dysoptian Week #2~ Book Review:Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
Hardcover, 391 pages
Published September 1st 2009 by Scholastic, Inc
Sypnosis:Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark won the annual competition described in Hunger Games, but the aftermath leaves these victors with no sense of triumph. Instead, they have become the poster boys for a rebellion that they never planned to lead. That new, unwanted status puts them in the bull's-eye for merciless revenge by The Capitol. Catching Fire maintains the adrenaline rush of Suzanne Collins's series launch.(Goodreads Desciptions)

 My Review......& Other Things.......
After reading the Hunger Games I was absolutely enticed to read Catching Fire! And yes I was lucky to win it from school!,and I got a head start.....and it was great read! The cover looks cool the bird and the red, yellow, and orange colors, really makes this stand out! My first thoughts on this book were that it will have more action and the romance(Katniss and Peeta Vs. Gale!) and it was an great read!
But not as good as the first book,:( Here's my review:!

My Review.......
The famous, starcrossed lovers Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark have won the annual Hunger Games but for both of them they don't feel triump or safe. The Capitol's on the edge with Katniss, President Snow's visit, Gale holding her at an icy distance, and a rebeillion Katniss and Peeta never planned to happen.
The Quarter Quell's are soon arriving, and the mercyless, cruel  Captitol's Victory Tour, Katniss and Peeta may have sparked a rebillion and a fire burning the Capitol down. The fire is growing and is slowly catching fire.........

A must-read for the series! If your a Gale Fan! More romance between the A-Mazing Love triangle between Katniss,Peeta, and Gale!!! :)

Overally, 4 Deserving Balloons!!!

So are you Team Gale or Peeta?! Comment below!
